Judith Nemes

Green Editor

Judith Nemes is the editor of A Fresh Squeeze.  A veteran journalist specializing in green issues and urban sustainability, her work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Edible Chicago, Crain’s Chicago Business and GreenBiz.com.

She also is an adjunct professor in the Journalism Department at Columbia College Chicago. She has taught classes on news reporting and writing and environmental reporting focusing on green issues in an urban context.

When she's not on deadline, you can find Judith biking along Lake Michigan, practicing yoga or off shooting photos. She is a big fan of artisanal cheese and organic food, and loved reading The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan and Hot, Flat, and Crowded by Thomas L. Friedman. Judith is working hard at shrinking her carbon footprint and living more gently on the planet.

My green dream home has... a small footprint, solar panels, radiant floor heating, a greenroof, lots of natural light and is filled with stuff made of reclaimed materials.

My bumper sticker says... Think Global, Act Local, Be Kind.

My grocery list has... lots of organic, local fruits and vegetables, locally-made goat cheese, sushi when my kids talk me into it, and nothing with high fructose corn syrup.
